How refunds, cancellations, and auto-renewals work on MettaPay.
Last updated · July 7, 2026
This page is a defensible template maintained by MettaPay. It is not legal advice — consult qualified counsel before relying on it for production use.
01
Platform fees
MettaPay platform fees are earned when a transaction reaches the state that triggered them (e.g., escrow funding, release, dispute resolution). Fees are generally non-refundable, except where required by law or where we have made an error.
02
Escrow principal
Escrowed principal is not a MettaPay refund matter — it is released to the buyer or seller according to the escrow terms and any dispute outcome. See How escrow works.
03
Subscriptions & auto-renewal
- You may cancel any subscription from your account settings at any time.
- Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period; no partial-period refunds unless required by law.
- In California, we honor the requirements of the Automatic Renewal Law (SB-313): clear consent, renewal reminders, and easy online cancellation.
04
Chargebacks
Please contact support@mettapays.com before filing a chargeback. Chargebacks filed without prior contact may result in account suspension pending investigation.
05
Network gas fees
Blockchain gas fees are paid to the network, not MettaPay. They are non-refundable regardless of the transaction outcome.
