By creating an account or using MettaPay (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- You must not be located in, or a resident of, a sanctioned jurisdiction (including but not limited to Iran, North Korea, Syria, Cuba, and the Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk regions).
- You must not be on any government sanctions list (OFAC SDN, UN, EU consolidated, HMT).

Services
MettaPay provides programmable escrow, wallet-to-wallet payments, invoicing, and related compliance tooling for stablecoin and tokenized-deposit transactions. The Service is non-custodial for connected external wallets — you are solely responsible for the safekeeping of your private keys and seed phrases.
Fees
MettaPay charges fees on transactions and escrow releases. Current fee schedules are displayed in-product before you confirm a transaction. Fees may change with notice. Network gas fees are paid separately to the underlying blockchain and are not refundable.
Prohibited use
- Money laundering, terrorism financing, or sanctions evasion
- Fraud, theft, identity misrepresentation, or impersonation
- Sale of illegal goods or services, CSAM, or other unlawful content
- Unlicensed financial services, securities offerings, or gambling
- Automated abuse, scraping, or attempts to circumvent security controls
- Use of stolen funds, mixers/tumblers, or addresses associated with sanctioned actors
We may suspend or terminate accounts and reverse or freeze transactions where permitted to enforce these rules.
Escrow disputes
Funds in escrow are released according to the agreed conditions. If parties cannot resolve a dispute directly, MettaPay's arbitration process (or a designated arbitrator) will review submitted evidence and make a binding decision. Decisions are final at the platform level; off-platform legal remedies remain available.
Disclaimers & limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, MettaPay is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for losses arising from blockchain network failures, smart-contract bugs, third-party providers, or your loss of credentials. Aggregate liability is capped at the fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts for violation of these Terms, regulatory requirements, or risk concerns. Sections relating to liability, dispute resolution, governing law, and surviving obligations remain in effect after termination.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which MettaPay, Inc. is incorporated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration where permitted by law, except for claims that may be brought in small-claims court.
